Realizing children's rights – act now!

The new Eurochild report shows that in many European countries, children's rights remain nothing more than a promise on paper.

Poverty, exclusion, violence, lack of education – millions of children in Europe grow up in circumstances that deprive them of their fundamental rights. The latest report, “Unequal Childhoods – Rights on paper should be rights in practice,” analyzes the situation in over 20 countries – including Moldova, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Romania, and Austria – and reveals that The protection of children can only succeed where politicians, civil society, and supporters act together.

Our experience from over 30 years of work in the poorest regions of Europe shows that change is possible. But it requires structure, courage, and long-term investment.

CONCORDIA supports children where the gap between law and reality is greatest – with day centers, psychosocial care, educational programs, parental support, and political engagement.

For example:

• In Moldova, CONCORDIA operates 11 multifunctional centers for early childhood development and parental support and played a leading role in the development of the national child guarantee.
• In Bulgaria and Romania, CONCORDIA promotes inclusive education and combats child poverty and segregation – with day centers, school projects, and vocational training.
• In Kosovo, CONCORDIA provides school materials, hot meals, and psychosocial support where no one else helps.
