With our free learning support, children and young people come to LenZ after school and enjoy a healthy snack together with the learning support staff and volunteers. During this time, we chat and exchange ideas. Then it's time to start learning. The children and young people do their homework or worksheets or work on their online learning platforms, in small groups or one-to-one, depending on their individual needs. Once all the children and young people have finished their tasks, it's time for leisure activities: sports and creative activities under the guidance of the LenZ team.

Before new project participants are accepted, clearing discussions are held. During these discussions, we clarify the support needs of the children/young people and get to know the parents. We also discuss the legal framework and house rules (supervisors, voluntary participation in the project, etc.) with the participants.

Parental counselling and family support

Parental involvement is crucial for the educational success of children and young people. Parental counselling enables parents to actively participate and take an interest in their children's education and strengthens their ability to be there for their children in the best possible way.

Mothers and fathers with refugee and immigrant backgrounds face massive cultural, linguistic and informational hurdles and are therefore only able to provide limited support to their children in terms of educational opportunities, school and learning. At LenZ, parents are involved in all matters, receive counselling in individual or group settings, and are provided with specific information on topics such as education, social issues, and adult education opportunities at information evenings. We provide knowledge and expertise on all aspects of life with children in Vienna and serve as a point of contact for questions and problems.
