Soup kitchens, ORF „Feierabend: Children – hope for all“, broadcasted on 25.12.2009, by Markus Mörth
Across all of Moldova, we are in the process of establishing a woven net of 40 soup kitchens. Each of them serves as a reminder of neighbourly help.
With the help of these 40 soup kitchens, CONCORDIA ensures 5000 elderly and lonesome Moldovan people’s survival. Each of these caters to 100 needy people every day.
Those who can walk come to the soup kitchen, otherwise young adults use bikes or horsedrawn carages to provide the meals. During the cold winters, when the temperature can drop down to minus 25 degrees, many elderly people don’t leave their house at all. Both a warm meal and a good conversation brings them joy.
